Ryan Cordell Receives ACLS Digital Innovation Fellowship

Assistant professor Ryan Cordell is one of seven recipients of the American Council of Learned Societies Digital Innovation Fellowship.  According to the ACLS Director of Public Programs, the fellowships “support scholars employing sophisticated computational methods to open new and promising avenues of inquiry into complex humanistic problems.”  Professor Cordell received the fellowship for his project “Global Viral Texts: Mapping the Circulation of Nineteenth-Century Newspaper Literature across Oceans and Languages.”  He is the department’s second recipient of the Digital Innovation Fellowship, which is currently held by Professor Elizabeth Dillon.
