Rory Smead is an assistant professor of philosophy at Northeastern University. He received his BA from the University of Minnesota Duluth, his MA from the University of California, and his PhD in logic and philosophy of science from the University of California, Irvine. Professor Smead’s research is currently focused on the evolution of social behavior, the connections between evolution and learning, applications of game theory to ethics, and philosophical issues surrounding the use of idealized mathematical models in the social and biological sciences.
