The 2012 Olympics, deemed as “The Year of the Woman,” was the first in which every country sent a female athlete to the Games, as well as the first in which the U.S. women both out-medaled and outnumbered the U.S. men. Using these accomplishments and the 40th anniversary of Title IX as a launching pad, the Northeastern Humanities Center will host a panel discussion on the current state of women in sports and address the question, “how far have we really come?” RSVP encouraged to nuhumanities@neu.edu
