On Tuesday, November 27, Rabbi Capers Funnye of Chicago’s Beth Shalom B’nai Zaken Ethiopian Hebrew Congregation gave a lecture at NU entitled “Exploring Diversity in American and Global Jewish Communities: An African-American Rabbi’s Personal Journey to Judaism.”

View the entire lecture here: Rabbi Capers Funnye Speech Northeastern University November 27th, 2012 from Katie Shannon on Vimeo.

After Rabbi Funnye’s talk on his own path to the rabbinate and diversity in the Jewish community, audience members participated in a lively question and answer session with our guest speaker.

The event was hosted by the NU Jewish Studies Program and co-sponsored by the NU Department of African American Studies and the Center for Global Judaism at Hebrew College.
