Peter Antonellis

Research Interests
Peter’s research interests are in the area of American Government & Politics, specifically focusing on notions of Federalism. He is interested in the effects of “fiscal” federalism as it relates to the appropriation of funds, not only from the federal government to the states, but also from the states to individual localities.

Prior Work
Before enrolling in the PhD program at Northeastern, Peter served as a staffer in the Massachuetts Legislature. He has worked in both the House of Representatives and the Senate as a Legislative & Budget Director and most recently was Chief of Staff to the House Committee on Consumer Protection & Professional Licensure. This work allowed him to hone in on particular policy interests, including transportation and economic development. He was able to work on actual projects such as the restoration of Commuter Rail service to the South Coast of the Commonwealth.

Biography
Peter received a Master of Public Administration from Northeastern University in 2008 and his Bachelor’s Degree in 2004. His outside interests include state and local politics as well as roadtrips and hiking, particularly in the White Mountains.
