What's New at NURIEC?

+ The NCIEC Prospective Deaf Interpreter Training is taking place from May 1-6 in Brooklyn, MI. Check out our Deaf Interpreter page to learn more about this initiative.


+ Did you know that the NCIEC “Interpreting in Spanish-Influenced Settings Train-the-Trainer” event concluded on April 24th? Now, participants will be required to host their own ASL/Spanish/English interpreting trainings by September 1st. Visit interpretereducation.org for trainings coming soon!


+ Registration for The Sixth Annual Student & Novice Interpreter Network (SNIN) Conference is now open! Visit the SNIN Conference page for everything you need to know and to register.


 + Are you from the U.S. Virgin Islands? Apply for participant support to attend both the SNIN Conference and Summer Symposium! NURIEC will waive the registration fees for two participants, plus offer each an honorarium for hosting a learning seminar. Application deadline is May 16th.


+ NURIEC and NIEC are co-sponsoring a webinar on May 12th. The last of the “Novice Interpreters Speak Up” series will offer a dialogue with interpreters of color as they reflect on their entry to practice experiences. Check the NIEC website for more details coming soon!
