Curriculum Vitae

Research

My primary research interests involve intersections of race/ethnicity, social psychology, and inequality in the United States. My work has appeared in the American Sociological Review, Social Forces, Social Psychology Quarterly, Social Science Quarterly, Du Bois Review and other publications. Most recently, I co-edited a Volume (March 2011) of the Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science titled Race, Racial Attitudes, and Stratification Beliefs: Evolving Directions for Research and Policy. My current work examines the relationship between race/ethnicity and a variety of outcomes including: stratification beliefs, social class identification, racial attitudes, and patterns of inter-regional migration within the United States.

Personal

I'm originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, a suburb of Washington D.C., lying just inside the capital beltway. After high school, I attended Miami University (B.A., 1990), and then pursued graduate studies in Sociology at Indiana University (M.A., 1992; Ph.D., 1998).   Thanks are due to my brother Brian for the HTML lesson that got me started on this page.
