Our Program

The Theatre Department offers: BA with a major in theatre, BS with a major in theatre, and a minor in theatre.

The study of theatre—as performance, visual expression, text, theory, and history—at Northeastern University balances production theory and practice.

In the theatre laboratory, students (both majors and non-majors) are involved in experimental learning that synthesizes the ideas, theories, and practices studied in the classroom. All theatre majors participate in laboratory and public performances.

A theatre major may enter 1 of 3 concentrations: Performance, Production, or Generalist. Opportunities exist for independent projects, internships, and co-op experiences.

For detailed information on the Theatre Department's curriculum please see the NU catalog site.

Current students can check their progress by doing a degree audit at the undergraduate student portal.
